  • Rifugiato in un angolo accogliente all'interno di un *hutong*, ho ritrovato i ritmi rilassati della primavera pechinese

    Avevo prenotato il Spring Yingxiang Hotel (Beijing Wangfujing Nanluoguxiang Branch) a fine marzo cercando semplicemente un posto dove alloggiare vicino a Nanluoguxiang; non mi aspettavo nulla di più di un hotel economico, comodo ed essenziale. Eppure, dopo tre giorni trascorsi lì, mi sono reso conto che non si trattava di una semplice tappa di passaggio, bensì di un rifugio capace di infondere il fascino tranquillo dei vecchi *hutong* di Pechino in ogni singolo dettaglio.
    Non appena ho varcato il cancello in legno dell'*hutong* ed sono entrato nella hall, la stanchezza del viaggio è svanita. Non c'era quell'odore asettico e artificiale tipico delle catene alberghiere; l'aria era invece pervasa dall'aroma di caffè appena macinato. L'addetta alla reception non ha affrettato le procedure di check-in: mi ha prima offerto un bicchiere di acqua calda e limone. Saputo che ero appena arrivato dopo due ore di treno ad alta velocità, mi ha indicato con premura un comodo divano nell'angolo, invitandomi a riposare qualche minuto prima di ritirare la chiave della camera. La hall non era ingombra di decorazioni commerciali; sugli scaffali lungo la parete erano esposte le tradizionali statuette pechinesi del "Tu'er Ye" (il Dio Coniglio) e souvenir lasciati dagli ospiti precedenti: sfogliandone alcuni, ho scoperto molti luoghi di nicchia amati dalla gente del posto.
    Ho soggiornato in una camera con vista sull'*hutong* dotata di un letto grande; la prima impressione, entrando, è stata quella di uno spazio molto più confortevole di quanto le foto lasciassero intendere. Non un solo centimetro dei circa 15 metri quadrati è andato sprecato; il materasso "a pressione zero" offriva il perfetto equilibrio tra rigidità e morbidezza, tanto che la stanchezza del viaggio del giorno precedente è svanita dopo appena dieci minuti che mi ero sdraiato. Il punto forte era la finestra affacciata sull'*hutong*: scostando le tende oscuranti, si potevano ammirare i rami di gelsomino d'inverno che si protendevano dal vicino *siheyuan* (la tipica casa a corte). Una brezza leggera portava con sé il profumo dolce dei fiori di robinia e non si avvertiva alcun rumore di traffico proveniente dalle strade principali della città. Il bagno presentava una netta separazione tra zona umida e zona asciutta, e l'acqua calda arrivava all'istante. Persino il bagnoschiuma aveva una delicata profumazione alla camomilla: una doccia veloce ha spazzato via tutta la polvere e lo sporco accumulati durante una giornata trascorsa a esplorare gli *hutong*. Era impossibile non notare la cura per i dettagli: avevo accennato di sfuggita che il mio cavo di ricarica era troppo lungo e rischiava di farmi inciampare, e il personale delle pulizie mi ha subito fatto trovare un raccoglicavo; sapendo che in primavera l'aria di Pechino è secca, avevano già sistemato un piccolo umidificatore in camera, evitandomi la scocciatura di dover chiamare la reception per richiederne uno. Una sera, rientrando verso le dieci da una passeggiata nei vicini *hutong*, ho trovato la macchina del caffè della hall ancora in funzione; l'addetto alla reception — notando i *tanghulu* (spiedini di biancospino caramellato) che tenevo in mano — mi ha sorriso e mi ha porto una salvietta umidificata, osservando: "C'è vento tra gli *hutong* e, con lo zucchero, le mani tendono a diventare appiccicose". Anche la lavanderia self-service è stata provvidenziale: vi ho messo la giacca che avevo indossato per la visita alla Grande Muraglia — ormai incrostata di polvere dopo l'escursione — e la lavasciuga ha completato il lavoro in un'ora. Detergente e ammorbidente erano forniti gratuitamente, quindi non ho dovuto riportare in camera i vestiti sporchi.
    Il momento più memorabile è arrivato una sera, dopo essere tornato in hotel dal Tempio dei Lama: ero seduto sui gradini dell'ingresso a godermi la brezza. Un ospite straniero della stanza accanto era appena rientrato dopo aver scattato foto negli *hutong* e stava chiacchierando in un inglese fluente con il giovane receptionist su quale vicolo ospitasse i meli ornamentali in fiore più belli. Mentre il vento spargeva i fiori di robinia ai nostri piedi — lontano dalla folla opprimente delle attrazioni turistiche o dalla frenesia di un itinerario serrato — ho capito all'improvviso perché così tanti ospiti desiderino tornarci.

  • Scegliere la posizione giusta a Pechino ti risparmia un sacco di grattacapi! Questo hotel, situato proprio all'ingresso di un *hutong*, è una struttura che consiglierei a tutti i miei amici. Da persona che visita Pechino almeno due volte l'anno per esplorare la città e gustarne la cucina, ho finalmente scoperto una vera perla per rapporto qualità-prezzo nella zona tra Wangfujing e Nanluoguxiang: {酒店名称}. Ho soggiornato qui per tre notti e non ho mai dovuto affannarmi a cercare un taxi nell'ora di punta mattutina; ho raggiunto tutte le mete in programma spostandomi esclusivamente a piedi e in metropolitana. La comodità della posizione e del contesto circostante ha reso il viaggio molto più rilassante rispetto a qualsiasi altro soggiorno in hotel del centro

    La posizione dell'hotel è un vero tesoro nascosto nel frenetico ritmo cittadino: basta uscire dalla stazione Zhangzizhonglu (Linea 5) all'uscita A, svoltare due volte e percorrere 300 metri per arrivare all'ingresso dell'*hutong*. Non c'è bisogno di trascinare la valigia su ciottoli sconnessi ed è persino possibile parcheggiare una bicicletta in condivisione proprio davanti all'ingresso. Cosa ancora migliore, l'hotel si trova in una posizione strategica tra tre punti di interesse principali: Wangfujing, Nanluoguxiang e il Tempio dei Lama (Yonghegong). Ho cronometrato i tempi di percorrenza: bastano 10 minuti a piedi per raggiungere l'ingresso nord di Nanluoguxiang, evitando la folla della strada principale grazie a un piccolo *hutong* dietro l'hotel, che permette anche di passeggiare lungo il più tranquillo Yu'er *Hutong*. Il cancello sud del Tempio dei Lama dista invece 15 minuti a piedi; non serve alzarsi presto per prendere un taxi: con una passeggiata tranquilla si arriva proprio all'orario di apertura, evitando così le code.
    La rete di trasporti circostante è estremamente capillare: oltre alla Linea 5, a 8 minuti a piedi si trova la stazione Dongsi (Linea 6), che offre un collegamento diretto senza cambi per Chaoyang Joy City e il Parco Beihai. C'è una fermata dell'autobus a soli 50 metri di distanza; la linea 106 porta direttamente alla zona pedonale di Wangfujing in appena tre fermate. Dopo aver visitato Piazza Tiananmen e assistito alla cerimonia serale dell'ammainabandiera, basta prendere l'autobus n. 128 per tornare in hotel in sole quattro fermate, evitando così la lotta per accaparrarsi un'auto tramite app di ride-hailing nella piazza. Il terzo giorno sono andato alla Grande Muraglia di Badaling: sono partito a piedi dall'hotel verso la stazione di Zhangzizhonglu, ho preso la Linea 2 fino a Jishuitan e sono sceso proprio al nodo di scambio di Deshengmen. L'intero tragitto ha richiesto 40 minuti, permettendomi di arrivare ai piedi della Grande Muraglia un'ora prima rispetto ad alcuni amici che alloggiavano vicino alla Seconda Circonvallazione e sono rimasti bloccati nel traffico. Ciò che ho apprezzato di più è stata l'autentica atmosfera locale della zona: una piacevole alternativa alle costose trappole per turisti che si trovano vicino alle attrazioni principali. A soli due minuti di cammino verso sinistra si trova un negozio storico di *shaobing* (pane piatto) in stile "Vecchia Pechino", aperto da oltre dieci anni; le loro focaccine alla pasta di sesamo — così croccanti da sfaldarsi a ogni morso — costano solo tre yuan e la coda mattutina è sempre affollata di residenti del quartiere. A cinque minuti a piedi c'è un comodo mercato locale dove il *xiangchun* (germogli di cedrela sinensis) primaverile fresco e le fragole hanno prezzi incredibilmente convenienti, decisamente più vantaggiosi rispetto alle bancarelle di snack all'interno delle zone turistiche. Se cercate boutique artistiche, il Museo Dongsi Hutong dista solo dieci minuti a piedi verso ovest; lungo il percorso si incontrano caffè e botteghe artigiane ospitati nelle tradizionali *siheyuan* (case con cortile interno). È una zona tranquilla, pittoresca e molto fotogenica, decisamente più piacevole rispetto al dover sgomitare tra i negozi alla moda di Nanluoguxiang.
